70 Series Oil pressure and temp lights

Post by mylux »

Hi all,
Have searched forums and found a lot of advice about fitting after market oil and temp gauges to land crushers.
But can't find any one showing how its done,
I have a 3B that has just been rebuit due to a mate running it out of oil :x :x :x
I want to fit a red light that will illuminate when oil pressure is below a acceptable level and another that will glow when temp is above normal.
Question. how do I do this :?: :?: :?:
Plain english version please as I am only a mere fencer.
Thanks in advance.
Richard.

I found another way to acheive this. I used a digital gauge with alarm settings you can set yourself. These units allow you to activate a pezo alarm when the pressure or temp hit the 'Red'

I currently have a EGT and water temp gauge but hope to fit an oil pressure one soon.

Still got to sort a boost gauge too, but that will be an analogue one where the analogue clock goes in my dash.

Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

You get a sender for the oil pressure (most costly sender of the lot but cheaper then a whole new engine), put a T in the oil pressure thingee and voila. Water is threaded into the highest point in my water system.

Hi

I run a digital Oil pressure guage that has a built in alarm feature.

I also have a water level alarm that is at the top hose of the radiator. It just squeals if the water is low.

these both are fitted to a 24 Volt version.

Give me a PM if you want to have a look.
