Just checked that video again and that person wasn't even in our group. He was merely a spectator that was on the track at the time.

No need to edit this video clip.

And thanks for pointing that out before someone with authority did.

Even if he was in the group, he wasn't driving, so how can this be bad for 4wding? No different to watching Bathurst while having abeer IMO

In the PC world we live in Dave. I think it's a good idea to be as cautious as we can. I think he has a point. My fault for letting that one go. It's a good lesson for me...

If he fell in front of a truck and was killed because he was pissed. It would make the news and be bad for the 4X4 community.

If you fell on a knife pissed in the lounge while watching a 4X4 event on TV and was killed, it wouldn't make the news.

Both events would be sad all the same. :D

True, but having a beer and being intoxicated are 2 completely different things, and the people on the trip wouldn't allow that sort of behaviour anyway.
Of course, much easier to judge from a computer than actually being there

I agree. But it's hard for people viewing the video clip to know whether someone holding that drink is truly pissed or just having his first beer for the day.
Best to just keep video clips like that clear of any alcohol.

That was Rude, my mate that comes over every year for my birthday trip except this year, he's taking me to the cape instead, and I'll be drinkiong the beer. He never drives when here, especially a nissan so was never at the wheel. never assisted in any recovery while drinking. Feek, get over yourselves those that pay homage to PC BS. If you knew me, you would know how anal I can be about safety on trips, and not afarid to nut out at you if you breach it. Shit better put disclaimers at the bottom of all pics, movie etc now.

if you are so anal about saftey you wouldnt be drinking on the trial then would you .
95% of the clubs that belong to the NZFWDA have the rule of no drinking or drugs on club runs .
with of the course the exceptance of camp overs and so on .
Was just trying to look out for the sport but have come to notice that some pepole on here dont have the image of their sport on their list of priorties
and could wreck the sport the we all love by bean a num skulled fukc wit and not bean able till wait tilll the end of the day for a beer . look at on the news late last year those fellas who rolled there surf while hooning around the dunes .
how diid that come out in the media 4x4ers roll 4wd after drinking
when the driver was actully sober but they didnt put that in the paper did they.
I hope i never meet any of you half wits in the bush . And breking a basic common sense buy drinking

Guys, guys, guys... he is just having a beer.
bb402c wrote:if you are so anal about saftey you wouldnt be drinking on the trial then would you .

A passenger having a beer has nothing to do with safety (well, he might jam the bottle up his nose while trying to have a mouthful on a bumpy track  ), its as you, say about appearances. As a driver, I've been known to have a beer over lunch, or after sweating my ring out recovering trucks (tastes best when youv'e earned it), but I'm happy that I'm acting "responsibly". Who cares what those people think with little knowledge of the situation. Who really believes everything the media says anyway, they have and will always blow things out of proportion.
Just remember, he's only having a beer, good on ya mate.

Sorry petefj40, but I felt the need to voice my opinion.
I can't place that track, looks like fun.
If you break it... build it stronger.

that day i was fly fishing on said river the Ashley and that so called driver jumped off the bank probably 3 foot high into the river 15 meters in front of me and there was no concern for safety nor care for the vehicle even if driver was sober still done stupid things.
in fact i bet everyone here can put there hand up and say that we have all done something while driving or passenger IN HIND SIGHT

Just more PC crap. Soon you will all be driving with slicks so you keep up your image.

Can't see how a passenger having a beer is worse than a driver having a few at night on a club trip, only to get up the next day to drive again with alcohol in their system.

Put it back, you were on the money. The little precious whiners are the ones who give all the PC bullshiat momentum.
Some of these people need a cup of cement so they can harden the fark up. (and leave the having a quiet beer as a passenger to the humans among us :D )

Saves a lot time in the long run. And I don't like to get peoples backs up.
