Hi got an issue with my glow plug indicator light it only comes on for about 1.5 seconds.
I have new genuine Toyota glow plugs, they do continue to glow for about 15 seconds even after the light goes out so I just wait ten seconds before starting. A friends Prado glow light stays on allot longer than mine.
Anyone got a clue to what could be the problem? Maybe a temp sensor? If so where is it located?
Cheers

Re: Glow light 1KZ-TE on a KZJ95
My KZJ78 (1KZTE) does the same, turn the key wait few seconds, starts great.
The glow plugs in this engine will glow for a while after starting to control cylinder temps. And from memory may even kick in if temps drop. Sort of helps combustion.
Not like the days of old when it was for starting only.
Here is a chart from the 1KZTE eng manual

Hope this helps.
