60 series converting 4spd to 5spd

Post by hilux81 »

Hey how hard is it to convert a 81 4spd 3b 60series cruiser to a 5spd? Will a 5spd bolt up from a 4litre six cylinder 60 cruiser? cheers

H series diesels share the same input shaft as F series petrols ie 10 spline short shaft.B series diesels are 21 spline long shaft. 5 Speed 60 series boxes are basically a 4 speed with 5th gear in a housing between the gearbox and transfer. You will need to alter your driveshaft lengths but otherwise not much else .Hope this helps cheers sig
