Yet another "Hi I'm new" post
Hi I'm new!
There, it's said - I'm a noob and dammit I am proud. (Rather be pissed, but it's a school night after all...)
Anyhoo - done cars, done motorbikes - need something new, so hell, why not 4 wheel driving?
Cut to the chase, I'm probably going to wind up with a Terrano... what can I say, Nissan whore from way back, and they're cheap. I don't want anything expensive, cos I'm learning, and if I break a toy, I'd rather it not be a toy my missus would be likely to divorce me over.
I have one mate who does the odd bit of 4 wheel driving, and a couple who are completely bloody insane.
I think I will start with lessons from the part timer.
Anyway, rest assured, like many other 4 wheel drive virgins, I will be back to bother you with stupid noob questions and inane mutterings - after all, noobs have a reputation to uphold!
Chur!

Re: Yet another "Hi I'm new" post
Heh, I remember 'doing my time' on a motorcycle forum when I started on two wheels a number of years ago.
I still go back and look at some of my early posts and think "Shit, I was a dumbass" and then realise, those stupid questions taught me, and kept me alive - so I'm not hesitant to let my ignorance be known

Those dumbass questions are great. Chances are someone else is thinking the same thing but is scared to ask.
The thing is "You don't know, what you don't know." and you only learn by asking, but make sure you use the search function first and if you are still unsure then fire away.
Welcome Noob - Ya gotta start somewhere!

Re: Yet another "Hi I'm new" post
Well, if I'm going to dredge a thread, it might as well be my own.
I'm officially on the prowl for a Terrano, the wife has set me a budget of around 3-4k so the internets are taking a bit of a hammering at the moment.
A few good lookers out there, but bloody hell they've got some mileage on them (all at or over the 300k mark) - but then again for a new toy I figure I'm not going to be that fussy to begin with.

Well, as of about 2 and a half hours ago I now own a 93 Terrano - it's red, so it goes fast!
Not beautiful, needs a guard sometime and a couple of wheel arch flares are cracked and will need repair but for now duct tape will suffice!
Couple of tires in the next few months and probably a bonnet respray and the wife will stop grizzling about how rough it looks.
Stoked!

What's wrong with a Terranosarus. Mine's 20 years old now.
They will always be the Safari's LITTLE brother

Good score

Best you read all the steering and suspension posts

P.S, Welcome mate.
Cheers,
Simon
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

GK, there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.
The guys and gals here have taught me heaps, I don't know whether to be grateful or fearful yet.....
One thing I have found out, is Tui is no longer owned by Kkiwis and its weasel's piss at best.
They are all insanely jealous of Stinky, Craig and I, for we each own a mighty Ssangyong Korando!!

Say it ain't so, SAY IT AIN'T SO!
I shall sit here cradling my quart of Tui and say LALALALA out loud in absolute denial...
