Post by coxsy »

Picked up some clutch cable boots, fitted them to the pto morse cable on the safari to stop water and dirt jamming up the thing
also got some fittings off enzed to move the air filter on the ARB pump to a less wet area of engine bay, :D
and old battery box in the 40 got removed then it died with bugger all spark at the plugs :(
have to add repco ," everything a auto store should be'
new condenser here on monday

Cut boat anchor of a muffler out and replaced with striaght pipe, only has one small muffler now and the terrano sounds and goes like it should. What a difference it made!

Next on the list, buy EGT and boost guage and add a bit more fuel and boost.

Removed winch bar and damaged right front guard from Thompson's last weekend
Panel beat right front, and fitted new second hand guard.
Tomorrow, jack mounting points of bar and beat it back into shape, service winch and see how far I get putting the bastard back together again
Do the ground work to fit intercooler and bonnet scoop.
Rebuild front suspension......again  :!:
Ready to break next trip.
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

International Rally of Whangarei this weekend, so as usual we had the Whangarei 4x4 club down at Pohe Island entertaining the crowd while they waited for the rally cars to come back from the stages.

this year we had a nice little wet muddy time trials track set up, Had an enjoyable day trashing around in the Water and mud as fast as we could go, for some reason DAN kept sliding into the next gate when it was my turn to race. I managed to beat him once (only cause he conked out 20 meters from the finish line) was still ahead of him though

didnt get many photos as some dipstick forgot to put the cf card in the camera  and it only holds 3 photos on internal memory.

water was a big problem all day with the petrol powered trucks ... lost a rangie early in the day from water and a Feroza was about >< close to hydrolicing from the water

going to take me days to clean the truck out as pohe island was once a rubbish tip and the dirt they cowered it over with is the dredging out of the whangarei harbor ... stinks like you wouldn't believe

yea i was exagerating a bit, but majority of the 1kz's are selling for mid 2.5k, alot a those are from business's though. Just at this point and time there isnt alot of private sales on trdeme at the mo.
depending on what comes up at the right price..
1kz
3l then il bolt a turbo on
3rz or
comy.

ide like a 3rz but then for offroad use im thinking a turbo diesel might be more practical, them 1kz have good power.

Ok this weekend, 90% finished my new flat deck on the hilux.
Went out to the selwyn with a group of people today, was a passenger in my mates F250, went well till it broke the right front driveshaft, snapped the universal yoke in two
That shortened the day up for us!
Came home and took the hilux out, went up the ashley, used the winch for the first time properly since it was fitted last weekend, works well :D

Went climbing out at Flock Hill on Saturday so didn't get much done to the trucks but stuck a set of 31" muds onto the 60 series instead of the 7x16 crossply skinnies, looks much better. Also went a bit mad in the sun and took the roof back off the FJ40, it's so much more fun without it, bit chilly coming into work this morning though

Spent some time on TM looking for bits for the turbo conversion on the 3b in the 60 and most importantly got the ORE sticker onto the back window  :) Oh and spent some time getting excited about the Hanmer mudplug.

Managed to put two new dents in the LWB Prado.
At this rate I will be cutting its backside off sooner than planned  `
I am sure those pine trees in the Woodhill park don't like us when we are on Saftey Patrol.
But then we do tend to play in the Red tracks
