LJ78 Air Locker Stuck

Post by Landcruiser70 »

The locker on the prado is stuck in. Have checked all the lines, sweet as, no kinks etc. Anyone know any quick tricks to get it out?
REALLY need the truck for this weekend. Failing this, will try to rip the diff head out tonight and have a look.

Cheers
Hamish

if there is no air pressue thru the line it should dis-engage..... have you tried pulling the air-line at the solenoid and jacking the back up and turning one wheel? maybe the clutch gear is jammed?

Yup, tried disconnecting the line at both ends, disconnected breather. Still stuck. Tried turning one wheel, still stuck. What do you mean the clutch gear? And how is it fixed? :o

Oakey doke, took the diff apart, seems that the plastic engagement piston was chipped and wouldn't come out quite as far as it should be when the lockers disengaged. So have a new piston now, hopefully all back together tonight.
