I was amazed at the one-way street it was run along, that all the competition vehicles AND all the public vehicles had to try and squeeze past each other to use. I left around lunchtime and it took me 1/2 an hour to get from the carpark to the entrance.
I was similarly amazed at the tractor driver who 'extracted' a stuck Nissan (who was in turn trying to extract a stuck red MU - who seemed to be stuck in every event I looked at) by snatching him with a solid rope! I don't think Roy from the car seatcover warehouse who owned the truck was very impressed - I got that imression when he damn near climbed into the back of the tractor and started telling the driver all about god and stuff

Most of the vehicles seemed to spend most of the day waiting for the truck in front to be extracted from what were, for the most part, far too dificult stages for normal 4WDs - and several stages had no clear and easy extraction path - so (once again) the red MU found out - he dropped over a bank and the marshals destroyed a winch and spent ages trying to get him unstuck - it was comical. Most of the people watching could see it was pointless, but they tryed anyway.
All in all, pretty dissapointing with a few humerous moments thrown in - like watching Roy go nuts at the tractor driver.
Anyone else have any other thoughts on it?

Steve
