i want more travel

Post by y60 safari driver »

hi i have a swb y60 safari and i wantt to get more travel front and rear. at the moment it has a 2" old man emu lift which doesn't travel much. other than a bigger lift kit what mods help with travel and is there anything i can get to let the rear sway bar drop more on the left side. also how important is upgrading the steering dampener.

cheers

Are the shocks restricting the wheel travel? Swaybars will restrict travel, you can put quick releases on or throw them away to get more travel, but if it's the shocks, you won't benefit from that at all.

not much money. $1500 max to spend on suspension but i can get a good discount so probably $2000 normal value.
shocks hoding it up in the front and swaybar in the rear. where can i get the sway bar dropers? i dont want to take it off as i do a lot of on road driving too

best to put 80 series front shocks in and get some swaybar dis-connects for the sway bars front and rear :)

What are the shocks that you currently have eg exact part numbers. Then I can tell you exactly what you should do. I ran OME suspension in my winch truck for years.
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.
