LN130 rear disk conversion ??s

Post by Mattman »

Does anyone here have caliper mounting brackets and modified rotors for sale?

One of my wheel cylinders is leaking and I would rather convert to rear disks as the drums are shocking!

Cheers
Matt.

Yea I can do you a set no problems, how sick do you want to go ??? 8)

I've got templates for Maxima disk conversion or if you want sick I've just sorted a front to rear setup to put Hilux 4 pot calipers on the rear this includes a seperate disk brake on the rear of the trans for the handbrake

Hi Reece.

The Maxima conversion sounds like me. I take it you use Maxima calipers, what disc's do you use?

Is the factory proportioning valve okay?

Is that the solid front rotors from the 2wd utes?

Do they require modding at all to fit on the rear?

solid front rotors from the 4WDs... LN65 etc. Machine about 5mm from the centre hole and machine about 5-10mm off the outside of the stub-axle flange and they will slip together nicely... then use the bracket to suit whatever caliper you are using and bolt that in place, hey presto! Done! :)

Thanks Steve.

Is anyone able to offer brackets and milled discs for those of us without access to machining services?

Cheers

No problems on the disks and mounting plate.... but you will need to get the axles machined to fit them
If you want to send em up I'll spin em up no problems but it will be out of action for a day or two
I've just gone to a new supplier so I'll price out a set of disks for ya

Thanks Reece.

I don't know what second hand axles are worth, I might see if I can get a set and send them up to you.

Spoken to Turoa, spare set on the way.

Let me know what the disks and machining and bracket work is worth Reece and I will get the axles sent to you.

Cheers
Matt.
