Hey Dan, i was staying at the same motel as you guys at the RWC and spoke to you briefly on sat night when you got back.I put an EB falcon one in mine ,from memory it was 70amp.Only had to drill the mounting holes a bit bigger as i put a single bolt thru both the mounting points.Apparently a early 90s Mazda 626 one will work as well ( more grunt, may be a 110amp ) but i have no experience with this.I went onto the Outerlimits site to get all the original info but cant seem to log onto it tonight for some reason

I put a 110A EF alternator on my samurai. I used the standard mounts, I just had to put a V pulley on it with the correct sized spacer behind it, and drill out the mount holes.

I've got quite a small diameter pulley on it at the moment (comparable size to the multi-v one it came with) and I'm going through belts like crazy -- like one every trip. I have a slightly larger diameter pulley to try, hopefully that'll fix it.
