Tigerz11 9000 lb two-speed install

My old ironman 12000 lb electric packed up a while ago (water in motor), so I picked up a Tigerz11 two-speed 9000 lb from the good folks at tigerz11.co.nz.

The motor on these jobbies has got the brake built into it, and it's bloody long, so I had the bar modified slightly to shift the winch off-centre



I also modified the solenoid box so that the cables come out the sides instead of out the bottom, so it mounts nicer on top of the bar.

After carting the winch around on the bar for three weeks, finally got a chance to put it to use (apart from some epic across-the-carpark winching sessions)!





Pretty sorry excuse for winching, but I was highly motivated. Hope to get some more action shot soon!

How do you like the high speed?

Just easier for the winch bitch to walk it out rather then pull?

Slightly easier to spool out rather than pull, although a bit of effort is still needed to yank out any rope thats wedged on the drum. So probably not much in it.

Kicks arse if you want to respool after pulling at a bad angle and the ropes all piled up at one end of the drum. Plus, when I got home I just spat all the rope into a bucket for a clean, then sucked it all back in again.

Got to be a bit careful actually - the rope moves damn fast in high gear!
