Ute Lid Tray Hinge - What type do I need

Post by Swaney »

Hey there,

I have a LN65 with wellside which has a tray lid (made of plyboard covered with tread plate, its damn heavy).

Problem is that the lid has been attached with a normal screw type hinges, which means it is permanently fixed and can not be easily removed.

I would ideally want the lid to be removable, so some days I can have the tray lid on and others it might be off. What type of hinge do I need?

I was thinking something along the lines of a U type hinge that has a “screwable lock” on the top (to stop it falling off 1/2way down a mud track)

I probably havent explained it too clearly and will post some pics when i get home tonight.

Cheers for your help.

I got a Landrover (stop laughing    ) that has some hinges that work like that, sort of shaped like a C it allows the bonnet to be raised up to normal height and if you fold it right up to the screen you can remove the whole bonnet.
I may be be able to take a picture if you want?
I may even have a spare set in the shed if you are keen(not 100% sure)
Outta the way sheep shagga !!!!
