We totally enjoyed the day! Heaps of people, heaps of trucks. Cool hazards. Well done to the organizers!! I can see this event being a regular annual event. Was simply an awesome day!

It will be cool to hear what others thought.

First, I'd like to congratulate my brother Adam in wipping my ass in points and skills today. (I did tell you he is a better driver than me, he always has been) But for his first event? He did faaaarking well.
I had a good first round. Only 70 points in penalties. But the second round something like 400. I lost count after 300. 2 DNF's. Totally got it wrong..

BUT! me and my co driver had a blast!!

I didn't take any pix. Well, just one of Craigs truck (it's a weapon).

Image

Looking forward to seeing other peoples pix/vids.
Did anyone get pix of vvilly's truck on it's side????

Thanks again to all the marshals, Jase, Rick, Frank and other organizers!

Cheers,
Pete.

Yea it was a very good event, thanks to the organisers they done an awesome job. We were in the open class and we had a great day and done really well we enjoyed the challenge of competing against the buggies.
Good meeting more ORE members to it was good tosee you all there.

Good to see a good turn out of 40s too, i counted 7including the ones in the carpark.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

alrighty.. was a great days outing..

the event was great, mud was present, kids enjoyed, nibz was smiling, organisers were still ugly ( :P ) ..

sorry in advance for the vids.. couldnt gain access through the mud moat as i had a child that thought the fashionable option for a mudplug were her shoes, nibz had told her otherwise..

***international disclaimer***
some of the vids may have a little bloke yappin and makin noise in the soundtrack.. i put it down to a gremlin in the system, not joey..

Great event, well set out and well organised. I like the concept of not making it a race - much better for getting "Entry level" trucks involved, and reduces the damage factor. Really good to see a good turnout of old Classics - an old Series 2 (I think) Landie and a good fleet of FJ/BJ40's. I wished I still had mine going... Still, I had a heap of fun in the LWB Nissan "Hippo".

It was worth the trip from Blenheim - great effort guys! And the tracks are looking good for the Winch Challenge. There's a HEAP of work been done. Pity I can't make if for that one, but it looks like a great course for anyone wanting to have a first go at competition...

Was a great day!
Managed to get stuck in a bog that wasn't part of the course on hazard 3 pretty early on  She started pointing to it as I was coming over the top and I didn't want to argue so I pegged it instead of braking thinking I had a chance, but man that stuff was sticky!  2 tractors later and I was out with no oil on the dipstick then my score sheet got blown away so called it a day.
Was happy out with the camera so no worries.
Will be back next year, but maybe in a Nissan

Its great to be reading such positive feedback 8) 8) For our first 4WD event we are really stoked with how well it all worked out. So good we had to cut the fence wire in the carpark to make more room (some poor bugger took out one of the fencepost that we left standing though  ). We got a nice break with the weather too cause on Sunday morning it was absolute shite. I appreciate the support from you folks on here either as competitors or spectators. Without you guys the event would not have turned out as successfully as it did. We have a few things to work on, but I'll let you all know when we run the next event
