You can get a whole rear (/front) window demister kit from Little Reds in Christchurch for $43.46 +
http://www.littlereds.co.nz/StockCatalo ... tockID=138
I don't know how good they are. I was just looking around at options to fix the one in my Terrano last night. Might try some of that varnish first.

Let us know, sounds alot easier than replacing the whole lot if it works ok!

So is there a fix for this ??

It should be like this ...

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.
Re: rear window defroster reapir kits
Give both surfaces a rub with some scotchbrite. Super glue the terminal back on. then paint it with some of the window repair stuff to complete the circuit. You could probably mix up some fine iron filings into some araldite if you wanted to. Might sound abit rangi but as long as it conducts electricity it'll work.

so what happens when he repairs his demister strip (thinking more about the thin lines) with a thin layer of varnish which is much thinner than the surrounding track. I'm guessing it'll get much hotter much faster than the rest of the demister?
phone Ross Bolus (secretary of the BOP club) He'll save you.
Re: rear window defroster reapir kits
when you're repairing the thin lines you need to use the proper stuff.

Re: rear window defroster reapir kits
jase, might have to get you to look at the rear window of the jeep at some stage lol, only half it works
toymota thats stock standard.
Re: rear window defroster reapir kits
One of the boys at work used the Jaycar kit to repair the rear demister on his 910 bluebird. Worked really well, went from only a couple of lines working to pretty much the whole rear screen demisting like new
I was quite impressed. That was about a year ago an it still works well

Didn't barbie drive a jeep??

yup the jay car stuff works the little paint on job for $17 shipped or there about, need to turn the vial upside down get all the silver stuff to sit in the cap and use that, otherwise its to thin and doesn't work.
