Re: BJ74, shinyish POS
Gave the front bumper a trim yesterday, cut off all the extra brackets, cleaned an greased the siezed fairlead rollers (they had extra washers that made them bind up
), an fitted the hook off the 40s electric winch to replace the d shackle with a bolt thru it that came on the truck
An fitted a rated tow hook on the left hand side

Still got a shithouse approach angle

A mate has offered me an old set of bfg 33s that should do nicely for the time being

Addicted to suzukis....
Re: BJ74, shinyish POS
Cheers guys, it went alot better than I expected actually. An yes it could do with a 2" lift, my guard adjustments
stopped the tyres getting cut, but they still rub when pushed hard. An it need some side bars for when I rub up against those dam trees an banks

Re: BJ74, shinyish POS
Hooked up the trailer tonight to find that the trailer lights werent working
The wiring to the plug had been cut by the shackle swinging up an hitting the chassis where the trailer wiring was cable tied by the previous owner.
I was surprised to see the springs had compressed so much the shackles had hit the chassis
All fixed for now tho.
Been working on some sill protection/rock sliders this week.

Added some 3/8" rod in the middle to prevent peoples feet slipping thru between the bars when gettin in or out

Just waiting on the chassis mount brackets to be folded up (freebies take a bit longer to get done
) then I can mount them onto the chassis

I see your old FJ40 is up for sale again, hes losing some money at $9400.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Re: BJ74, shinyish POS
Maybe he took some good bits out?
Re: BJ74, shinyish POS
Looks like he took the rear tool box out other than that theres not much thats removeable thats worth anything
I see he's already had the token question of Whats the steering box out of

Re: BJ74, shinyish POS
Had a busy few weeks but managed to make a bit of progress on the cruiser. The sliders are on (still got to paint them)

I picked up some 2" OME lift springs, shocks an anti inversion shackles.
When I fitted them this weekend they lifted it around 100mm at the bumpstops
The old ones mustve been pretty sagged
Moved the front diff forward 25mm so the 35"s will hopefully fit

Oh an fitted a reverse light

Seeing the engine is on its last legs an diesel rego an mileage is farking expensive, Im 99% sold on putting my 350, 5 speed an coil diffs in this cruiser.
Just need to find a suitably cheap runabout so I can park this up an start the mods
