We're turning it on for you north islanders. Looks like we are definitely going to get a good dump of snow saturday night and sunday. Make sure you have extra food, we may have to spend sunday night in there. I have left all the details of this trip and numbers with the wife, just in case we get a dump like we did 4 yrs ago down there, people were caught for a week or more inj some places. If she doesn't hear from me by Tuesday afternoon, she will notify police that we are in there. Not to rescue us, but to send in more beer   .

Al has managed to get this afternoon off so he is driving down today.
Al has asked me to lead those down that meet at BP Rolleston & depart 6am tomorrow.
BP Rolleston has a cafe so its a good place to get an early morning wake me up coffee.

Will be driving to Tekapo via Geraldine (114 km) via the main rd.
Considered going via Thompsons Track but drove that way a few weeks ago & it was very icey due to shading from trees.
Will then continue on to Tekapo (88km) from there.
Fuel is available in Geraldine ( was big city price last time i was there )

For those with UHF channel 19.

great trip, lots of laughs, my god that blue shit is the bomb, big thanks to al , the welle boys for there big effort to come down was great to put name to faces, and the rest of the guys that made it a fun trip, what topped it off was the snow. started snowing bout 7ish pm Saturday night and was still going when we left tekapo round 1pm Sunday. Sunday morning woke to find bout 1-1 and half foot of snow, hats off to al finding the way back out which was hard to do when every thing looks the same WHITE. some nutters sleeped in tents, some in trucks, some lucky ones in the hut with the fire going,
