Tip from my trip last year - go on the Friday when you get there to have a quick look around. Buy a two day ticket so you can bypass the huge queues on the Saturday.

i went a few years ago and was a bit dissapointed. just stay in South Yarra, its walking distance, and search out the club called the playpen. recommended.
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..

Of all the aussie cities M is my favourite. Ligon st (sp?) for italian food, Tram restaurant (well worth it but have to book in advance - do it the wife will love it). China town. Federation square for cocktails etc (gotta live the high life once  )

Whats not to love about Melbourne.

Oh yeah and their public transport system actually works. Get a day pass (not sure if they do 3 day passes) and use any public transport you like (trains, trams and buses), as many times as you like.
