Wanted-60 series cruiser front axle housing

Post by Jungle »

I keep breaking king pin bearings. CV and axle very difficult to refit. I think the housing is bent. Looking for a factory diff lock housing ideally. But will make do with a standard one if that's all that is around.

Have you checked out the one on TM its out your way? I think the spring perches are different to 40 series so it may be a 40 series one if it was in a HJ45?

Yea the 60 series diffs are wider and you can see the perches have been cut and moved inwards to fit the diff into the 45.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Yeah I looked at that one too. Got all excited for a while.
I guess the swivel hub setup will be the same for 40 and 60 series cruiser. He would have just put his 40 drums back on to the 60 axle. Does make you think why he didn't do the disc upgrade while there.

Hey Darin.

A box of the finest. Plus some cash too maybe?

Think the freight might be a killer but I'm in no hurry as I managed to smack the axle back in the hole.

When are you next down this way? In a years time???

Cheers

If it was super urgent I may be able to get it to Hamilton next weekend. Otherwise we can certainly get it to Manukau in October and my coey can prob take it back to Hamilton.

That's all sounding pretty damn fantastic.
I think i'm running a Minginui trip the weekend of the winch challenge.

If it can end up in Hamilton, that would be sweet.

G :D :D

p.s. Have you still got my ground anchor Ben?

Good plan.

Should fit nicely in the back of Aaron's tow wagon.

It doesn't belong to me so I'll talk to the owner and see what he thinks. Getting it to Manukau won't be an issue.
