New Lower Hutt 4wder

Post by Big Red »

Yeah hi there. Name's Ryan. Just recently got into 4wding courtesy of mate who been in it for a while. Rig is a '92 Hilux diesel. Mods so far (that I've done) is CB radio, Safari snorkel, 33 inch Maxxis Buckshots, and a tow hook on the front. Came already with XJS shocks. Working on getting my 2 inch body lift in, and tow hooks on the rear bar. Like to get a second hook on the front, but where you bolt them in, the (believe) welded nut has broken away. It's still in there but can't grab onto it, haha. Anyone struck this?

Yes it does look like a shiner (pics were just after I washed it), but after 6 months of ownership, had it bottomed out in a bog for 2+ hours, had to pump water outa the cylinders and hit a tree a few weeks back. Popped the rear passenger window out and denting/creasing two doors, haha. Looking froward to getting out and meeting youse.

Nice truck. Hope to see you out there.

From one new guy to another, there's a hell of a lot of info on this forum, and just remember, if you don't get stuck, you're not trying hard enough!

Oh as of yet it ain't upgrading it just yet, but more maintaining it and learning to drive i sweet. Kinda hard not to upgrade it when my mechanic talking of lift kits, bigger tyres and power upgrades, ha.

Yup keen for as many trips as possible. Is there any tracks in the central plateau that can be had? Set on a snow safari this winter.
