righto bit dumb with this stuff how do i check? assume just have a look around steering box to see if any cracks and look at gauge for oil pressure?
and are the factory winches and lockers any good?
Re: 80 series, thoughts???
they can crack on either side of the chassis so look real carefull... factory lockers and winch are good as, esp if they come on it already!!!!

Re: 80 series, thoughts???
yeah my thoughts exactly with the lockers and winch, what about the motor? just as good as any cruiser motor? go for ever!?
Re: 80 series, thoughts???
they are meant to
i love my 80 it goes well and does everything i need it to, for now lol! if you want to travel/tour then they are super comfy and have heaps of room, if you want to attack some harder tracks then with the lockers/winch and some big feet they go well to
do a search on cracked chassis on here, skid put up some good pics a while back

you should get around 500km a tank, but they do vary, if it doesnt have 3rd row seats they will need to be fitted and certed $$$$

Re: 80 series, thoughts???
righto bugger was kinda liking the idea of two tanks..... so what size tanks the jap ones have? all info i seem to find on google is for the aussie ones.
Re: 80 series, thoughts???
bout 80 ltrs give or take.. you can fit a longranger tank, but they require a bit of fab work to fit (they are designed to work with the factory sub-tank).
if your going to cruise the south island make sure you fit a safari snorkel to it

righto so safari intercooler good thing lol saw it there when i looked under the bonnet but didnt think much of it, and im not going to ask how you know that skid but thanks

Re: 80 series, thoughts???
I'm getting 700km per tank on average out of mine running on open roads. But then its a manual so will use a little less. When I get around to getting the part time time kit it will use less again.

ive fitted 3 of them now, makes a big difference to fuel economy and vehicle feel on the road.
not so good for slippery roads as it tends to act like a drift car... or maybe thats me doin it??
If you already know everything, DON'T ask bloody questions!!
