3/4 September

Post by nstacey »

Started the first maintenance I've done on my Zuke in about a year. Have the front discs to replace (no wear left in them) and will try to work out why it hasn't had 4wd for 2 years tomorrow.

This didn't turn out the best... BNT had the rotors for a V6 in stock for $80 a piece. They can source the ones for my 1600 but they're $250 each . Repco don't do them. So waiting for Suzuki to get back to me on Monday.

Being fathers day I got to have a sleep in, breakfast in bed and then a far chunk of the day in the shed.

My nice new fibreglass front clip (thanks to 4wdfibreglass for sponsering the prize at the RWC) has been cut to a point where it nearly clears the wheels. Needs a bit more cut out of the headlight surround to clear at full lock and compression. Bonnet doesn't have a hump like the old one but its still clears the engine and the new super charger :D (just)
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

Got to sleep in, went up and soaked in the Ngawha hot springs for a long hot soak this morning .. so im going to stink of sulfur for a few days   but man it's good to soak away the aches and pains.

Got back early enough to strip the winch off the Mistress and do a bit of long overdue maintenance on it, there was so much corrosion on the armature that im surprised it even worked at all, gave it a good clean up and re-greased the gearbox, seems to have a heap more pulling power now. just have to do the starter motor on both the Zuk and Saf .. both of them are playing up because of muddy water immersion.

Got a nice little club run coming up next Sunday that the winch will more than likely get a good workout.

Kids cooked american hotdogs and chips for dinner ..*burb*.

On saturday did club trip up stadia and down the grapevine, new exo cage worked mint, I did however spin 3 tyres on there rims so I think beadlocks might now be next on the to do list.
Didn't get fathers day sleep in, so water blasted the truck, still needs a good wash inside and out.
