Re: safari on tm
The first question to ask is if it has been certified.
The tyres and body lift probably need a low level cert.
The other thing to ask is about the HID's. Pretty sure the after market kits are illegal.
Might be fine getting a WOF at the garage the current owner goes to but your local garage might see things differently.
The other problem is with insurance, you can guarantee if you go off the road going around a corner you won't have a chance in hell getting paid out unless the tyres have been certified.

Re: safari on tm
might be just the angle but those rear guards look like they would catch the tyres if you try to stuff one in there.
doesnt say turbo but with those tyres you may need one. if it is an aftermarket turbo then that will need cert too.

You do have to certify any increase where the tyres are more than 5% larger than the factory originals. Pretty much any increase to a 33" or above on a Safari will need a low level cert.
This is taken from LTNZ and provides examples of where you do NOT need a cert:
the tyres:•
– have an outer circumference that is no more than 5% greater than OE, and
– are an appropriate selection for rim width, and
– have tread that does not extend beyond the original or modified body panels or guard extension (see Figure 10-1-1)
So any more than 5% and you do need a cert. Not many garages would pick this up, I know my Safari just got a new WOF running 33's but you if you have an accident and the insurance company looks into it you could be out of pocket.
Re: safari on tm
i ask that when i got my truck certed. and was told
tyres dont matter just the rims as people change tyres all the time.
On my cert plate its 15x8 rims no tyre sizes put on

Re: safari on tm
The cert plates I've seen are for rims only also. However the cert covers the speedo being out of whack from the increased tyre size so you still have to address that issue.
