Problems with drivetrain (terrano)

Post by willy_d »

Iv just brought a 89 terrano and its got a loudish clunk-grinding noise when its reversing. I can't really tell where its coming from but it happens in high and low 4wd and 2wd.

also there is a whirring noise that starts when im drive at around 50km/hr. Im guessing it's the diff as it doesn't change when i change gears.

thanks, will

I would say you have a problem with reversie gear. The other noise will be the diff, may need some work or just new oil.
