pipe is 3" pre-bent mandrel bend(from auto bend)after triming back a few times to fit,I cut slits in it then bent them in to fit the V clamp ring(approx 2.75")the ring is quite thin so I got a sheet metal place down the road from work Tig it up to reduce the risk warping,I would have stuffed it for sure if I tryed to weld it.turned out pretty good,I'm happy with it anyway.

this gives me about 15mm clearance to fire-wall,well be wraping down pipe

To get a tight bend, could you use a 2 1/2" short radius bend sch 40, the OD is 2.875" or 73mm with a 5mm wall thickness.

What manifold gaskets are people using??

I Just got off the phone to Nissan and the gasket comes in 6 separate pieces at $32each ($213+gst for all 6)

Or an after market kit for $30 total for all 6.

I thought I had read somewhere that some of the after market gaskets are arse??

Hi Pete,
Check with RS Industries and see what he thinks about using the T10 graphite as an option, although maybe a bit difficult to cut.

Don't waste your money on aftermarket. Use factory! In most cases just keep the old ones and reuse them and they'll out last the motor. i just kept burning the aftermarket ones out and then got some second hand factory ones which then lasted for several years.

Don't forget to restrict the oil feed to about a 2mm hole (as has been said) or you will stuff the seals in the turbo and it will smoke like a mother! Also make sure the oil return is as big as possible but at least 1/2" and is as vertical as possible and the fitting in the sump is above the oil level. Any blocked or restriction in the oil return will cause oil to force past the seals (again stuffing them and causing smoking)
Also it is 100% import that oil feed is from the top and as vertical as possible. Any angle could again caus oil to be forced past the seals and cause smoking.

I'll be impressed if you get 17psi at 2000rpm! My T3 (safari kit) could only get 14psi at 2000rpm (21psi max at 2700) and that was with an auto and line locking it so absolute max load.
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.

Got the last of the stuff required for the Turbo fitment

So far the tally is 8)

 DSR Turbo - Currently away getting re-balanced and Garrett bearings and seals fitted

 DSR Manifold - Has had the luuurve and ready to fit :D

 Nissan Mistral Airbox - Hacked and chopped and 3" inlet and outlet fitted, mounted complete with K & N and plumbed into snorkel

 Nissan TD27T injector pump - currently in the shop along with my TD42 pump getting mixed and matched and rebuilt to Turbo spec's with boost compensator aneroid etc

I have been slack with pic's, but there ain't much exciting to see yet :D :D

took a few goes to get the V clamp lined up,each time I did the clamp up it pushed the exhast off center(try yours on the bench before you weld the exhast to it)

Make sure you trial fit the manifold.I had to grind a small bit from No 2 runner so the nut would turn.

just little things really,no real stress just a matter of getting it rite

Hey DB, thats defiantly the best thing you can do with these pumps, and it sounds like its going to be an awesome install.

Best of luck man

Hahaha, they are under strict instructions not to build me a race pump, so they are just giving it the basic rebuild it was badly in need of, plus adding the aneroid and setting it up on the bench to run 15psi max. Should be a solid set up

Turbo Diesel & Automotive are playing with the pump for me.

The pump allows it to do 15psi max. It drops the fuel out at about 4,000rpm and the manifold pressure drops back.

Its doing about 3psi at 100k's on 33's.

The wastegate actuator has a very soft spring in it so I have pretty much blocked it off altogether. The gate was opening at about 8psi. I will fit a boost controller when I get round to it.

The Injector pump won't allow it to over boost, as the boost is controlled by the fuel.

It could do with some more fuel off idle, but thats about it.

Edit: 5psi at 100k's :D

Time for some new doors, the originals don't have any straight panels left on them

The drivers door got smashed on the 42 Travers back when the track was more entertaining, the passengers door got hammered around the wires loop at some point :D :D

New doors prepped ready for paint, rust holes in both doors repaired

Red base coat, getting ready to add the Charcoal:

The finished result with Charcoal base and blingy clear coated :D :D

Have to be patient and wait untill Monday night after work to fit them

doors look mint, you going to flick the rest of truck or give it a good buff?
Have you got simex's for it?think I saw a pic some were with tripple blocks on

got mine running last week, just need to finish off a few things.
drives much nicer than the other turbo set up,boost much lower down.exhast temps lower also.
at 100kph is 7-8psi,the old set up was 3-4psi which I think is to low.I havent changed the injecter pump/air cleaner from the old set up as I wonted a direct turbo comparison.I have blocked the waste gate also(8psi no good)max boost is 20psi only done that a few times.have made a little boost controller for short term till I get a incab one.I'm going to set about 15-17psi as long as clutch holds.
