WINCHS WINCHS WINCHS

Post by towtrucker »

thought id start a post on winchs , must be others out there like me that just love these things , pto cruiser , safari , electric , and hydraulic ! thought people could chuck up pics / info about their winchs , storys even ill kick it off with my new beastie

Image
the photo doesnt do it justice it measures about 900 wide , and weighs around 110 kg , i think its 15 - 20,000 pound pull

Image
heres the control block for it , it has a second lever that controls aux quick release hyd coupling , one day i want to build a log splitter that i can connect to the truck and run of its hydraulics . i also have a large tank and the hyd motor that will bolt up to pto drive on my cruiser .

the last winch i had on my old red 70 series was the factory pto , i drilled out the shear pin hole to 6mm and then one day had it double lined do a hard winch and it started to tear the winch bar off , the 2 main through bolts on chassie end went 1st , heres the old girl and me trying to free spool the winch

Yep, got a few myself trying to stay dry lying on the bonnet up to ya nuts in freezing cold water. Got to agree with the tirfor sadam, best and most trusted piece of recovery equipment I own. Good score from the army way back when....

Also agree. Tirfors can pull in any direction. Also after a few long strong arm recoveries , they teach you to think about where you might get stuck ,when out on your own before you just plow on in.
LR110 ..... LJ50 project
