Holden V6 into 70 series cruiser
Holden V6 into 70 series cruiser
Looking for a cheap re power for my bush truck, I have access to a free engine and computer/loom etc just need trans or possibly adapt to my 5 speed from my 3B. Would rather run the auto as I have heard of someone in NZ making adapters to go between auto trans and transfer? Has anyone here done this before or could point me in the right direction, dont really want to spend the big $$ on a marks kit, would rather buy NZ made.
Any advice would be appreciated, Cheers.

Slideways used to have a MWB 70 series with a commy and auto in it, great motors but they are probably more suited to a lighter vehicle than a cruiser?

I have to agree with sadam on that one not really a good choice of motor for a big heavy 70series, have you thought about v8s? adapter kits to fit the 350 chevs in are reasonably priced these days and the motors are cheap too
Just a thought.

Excellent, Thats kind of what was going through my mind anyway. Although i have lightened my 70 quite a bit (swb, mwb cab chopped into single cab with tray/exo etc) I still thought the v6 wasnt going to be enough. I really want to run an auto too so possibly adapt a turbo350/400 trans to cruiser transfer case so I can keep my pto drive etc. Does anyone have any info or adapters for sale as Im keen to get this underway!

You can get anything custom built. I have a nissan silvia auto mated to a hilux transfer. It worked out easy shaft wise but still cost me over $700 to get done by a mate of a mate as a cashie
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

^^ I think you are right ^^
Mr Tall gets all upset when you buy in via Aussie through other means and obliterate his prices. He does have as business to run though I guess.
