New from christchurch, looking to play

Post by Shortpaj »

Hi new to the 4x4 scene but absolutley loving what i have done so far.
The goal i am aiming for in setting up my swb pajero is a cabable mud hog, as well as a comfortable family wagon.
So here it is
1993 swb pajero, 3.5 v6 (boy it had some go before it had to push 33" muddzillas) lol
When i bought the paj it already had the safari snorkel, fully sealed engine diff breathers, 31" bfg's tow hooks fuel tank has been pretty well reinforced with steel plates same with factory bash plates etc

i have since added 50mm body lift, 50mm coil springs fliped ball joint cut bump stops wound the front torsion bars to level out rear coils, found some nice 33" Maxxis Mudzillas on TM still like new with minimal offroad use

would appreciate some feeback on Shock absorbers and uhf/cb radios and all other mods you can recomend etc

Also really keen to get out there and play/learn my truck so please if your out for a play let me know i would love to come along

Welcome, theres alot of guys getting out and about all the time but your best bet is to join a club.
Any of the ChCh boys got a list of clubs and contact details for them?
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Welcome.

I am running rancho rs9000xl's which have been awesome. they are about 250 each but are adjustable. They make a huge difference while towing. I tow a rowing boat trailer and not having that bouncing the car up and down is a plus as you can just wind them right up to 9 and they are super stiff.

I just installed a GME tx3100. They are about the size of a wallet, 40channel at 5w. They are a perfect little unit for club trips where you don't need all the added bs.

I have just finished doing my 2 trial runs with the Christchurch 4wd drive club. They are a great bunch of guys. They meet every second monday of each month at 7:30 at the cashmere club.

Hope this helps

yeah mate for sure. Try using a website like www.postimage.org and then copy the link to the message body section of a reply and it should load up.

Follow this link to see a list of the clubs...many different clubs that cater for diff styles & types of 4wding.

Personally i think the North Canty 4wd Club is a great bunch of guys who do a wide range of trips both here in Canty & on the West Coast.
