TD42 Oil Gauge

Has anyone fitted a mechanical oil pressure gauge to a nissan safari Td42??
New to these so thought i'd ask for advice. :scratch:

What do i need,as in parts?
The gauge on my new truck goes to 0ish on idle when hot.
Has had a new sender by previous owner and motor done only 99000 but i would like to try a mechanical for peice of mind.

Head down to repco and grab a mechanical oil pressure guage.

Pull the existing sender unit off and find a "T" piece that has two female ends that the sender can screw into and a male end with the same thread as the sender.

Figure out where you want to mount the gauge in the cab.
Run the oil line through to the engine bay.
Screw the "T" piece into the block, screw the sender unit into the "T" piece and the end of the oil line from the new gauge.

Fire it up and check for leaks.

As for the light in the new gauge, go down to an auo sparky and get a 24V bulb the same as what was supplied with the gauge. I wired the light into the light on the Ciggy lighter. It comes on when you turn the park lights on.
