2nd/3rd October
2nd/3rd October
well my weekend started today as I finished work early.
I had the new windscreen fitted, had to put some rust converter on some surface rust to make window guy happy and he put extra glue on to make sure it doesn't leak.
Then I started on the fabrication of my new exhaust. Doing it properly this time. Grinding welds back and filling holes etc. should be good, wouldn't mind getting some flanges to put on though, would be better than a solid system. anyone got any?

Re: 2nd/3rd October
Helped the missis start to put her Beetle back together, only fair as it was me that took it apart. Also found a nice big hole on the cruiser underneath the LANDCRUISER badge at the back. Ground it back and cleaned it up, painted it with Jenolite and will bog it up tomorrow.
Finally got the carpet back in with some extra soundproofing under it, its kinda almost quite in there now. Gotta love 3Bs and 3" exhausts
Tomorrow, more work on the Beetle and trying to find the source of an annoying squeak from the front suspension on the 60 series...
Plus maybe a bit of fishing if we have time since the season opened yesterday. Weekends just aren't long enough to get everything done!

Re: 2nd/3rd October
Shifted shit from the lockup to the garage (still cant find any of my bloody tools - shouldve labeled the boxes I guess
)
Spent the best part of 5 hours trawling the net for infor on prado (4 runner) suspension and alignment problems.
Got a few things to look at now (rack and tierod ends, steering rack bushes and the lower ball joints), so I guess I will be out of the sun tomorrow under the PITA.
Might get the catcher smelling of dog shit later in the day too

Movers are booked for the 8-10 of Nov. We hope to be there for Canterbury anniversary day (12th). I guess I have about 5 weeks and bit left up here in "Happy Latte land"
Just got all the shit to do, give notice, sort electrics/phone, redirect mail, pack more shit, get wagon roadworthy (kind of important that one), etc...
Problem is I cant be assed doing any of it.

Stuck in bed right now feeling way bellow average- this got me laughing though!

HORRAY FOR SUNSHINE! managed to go outside without getting wet!!!!!

Coped with some help to get the lux body off and stripped- then pulled out the TD42 and sent it and its manifold/turbo away with the new owner.
Chassis is bare so now can do a few things I wish i'd done before putting the cab on last time.
phone Ross Bolus (secretary of the BOP club) He'll save you.

Re: 2nd/3rd October
long weekend for me, started on friday with a day walking round Rallywoods sussing out some tracks etc for next years winch challenge. Was a good day as me and Reece actually got a plan sorted
then we went down to the river to give his truck a bit of a wash, but it was running rather high and there was evidence it had been about 1.5m higher than it was too.........

saturday went back in to Rallywoods to make a new track and do some clearing and watch Turoas 'shedrover' get all twisted up.........

then today I went a got a load of firewood for Pedro..............

then shot over to Sigs to give Sadam a hand to put rust kill on the chassis...............

had to laugh when he decided to read the instructions after we applied it, just to make sure it was done properly..........

then stole a few cupcakes from Sigs house and shot round to Noobies house to wait half an hour for the useless bastard and then get his little POS going for him so he can sell it..............

then dropped off a diff housing to Pedro on the way home and a spare for the trailer back to a mate..........

bloody awesome weekend and to top it all off the sun was out for all of it and I got sunburnt

Re: 2nd/3rd October
Had a great weekend in the old surf, traveled down from Taupo to Wellington with a few mates, stopped off and drove up the Tokino skifield mountain access road (Mt Ruapehu), and blasted back down on the mountain bikes. Caught up with more mates down in wellington, Hit Makara peak mountain bike park on saturday. Not so much 4x4ing but a good weekend never the less
