um usually about $50+ for an aerial, I usually get the dick smith ones, D4000 I think, they seem to be pretty robust?

I had 1 of the dick smith ones.... only lasted a few trips.... tore it off by hitting some branches.... replaced it with 1 from jaycar.
Seems about the same quailty but a bit cheaper.
Am going to get a short flexy for bush trip & use my longer high gain for open trips

I only paid ~100 bucks for a phasemaster aerial. Works all good and handles a bit of a hiding.

I had a UNIDEN UH088sx in my truck which I sold.
I may be willing to part with it at the right price if your interested.... Its a few years old but still all good, never had any problems with it...

Key Features:
- Mobile / DIN Size
- 5 Watts Maximum TX Output Power
- 40 UHF Channels
- Interference Eliminator (CTCSS)
- Front Fire Speaker
- Backlit Keypad and LCD Display
- Wide Full Frequency LCD Display
- Range Extender (Duplex) Capability
- Programmable Scan Function
- Open Scan, Group Scan
- RF Level Bar Indicator
- Optional Tone Squelch (SELCALL)
- 12 month warranty
- up to 18km range*

There is a manual here: http://www.uniden.com.au/resources_main ... H088SX.pdf

Have radio, mount, mic, mic mount, power cable.

No aerial as the base is screwed through the roof and would leave a hole...
