Hey Guys,
I'm looking at going up the Kati side on Mon or Tue this week.
Are there any locals that wouldn't mind guiding a newbie up there.
It maybe a bit too much for a solo effort.
Cheers,
Simon.
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

Your badass terrano will walk up there.
Havn't been in the past couple weeks but it will have dried out heaps. I was in 2wd the whole way last time I went. Just stick to the main track and check out the play areas before you drive em. The second one has a sneaky hole right by the main track that can bury your truck haha.

Nice weather for good views at the top.

We took 5 trucks through and back early Dec and whilst we had no real problems it is not to be taken lightly and I would advise anyone going up the Katikati side to have a min of 3 well set up trucks and start early. The long bog is just that. 8)

Perhaps "guide" was not the right word.
As Kimbo says, I'm after some support in case of breakage and the only part I'm worried about is the BIG BOG. I have done the other creek drop ins, winch outs....easy.
So, is there any well set up trucks going my way?
Cheers,

Bah i obviously can't fukn read  I thought you meant this side. Yeah a couple trucks at least. Can be a bit hard on panels but i did it just taking my time. took most of the day and drove round home on the road rather than return. I'm unsure how deep the holes are right at the end at the mo.
92 safari might be keen. Hes up there a bit.

Doh, yeah, been up that side on Thurs. I know my way up that side real well. Pulled a few trucks out of those swallowing holes near the "Rock Garden" play area. I'll send 92 Safari a pm.
I know he's keen to do some other tracks near by. I might poke my nose up Maratoto to check out the improvements.
