Its more restrictive than a tight red corset wrapped around Susan Boyle!
Almost seems a waste to go to all this effort making the exhaust only to have such a tight squeeze up there.
So Im thinking of cutting out a template of the gasket in 8 or 10mm mild steel plate. Then moulding (aka, grinding and smashing!) a piece of 3" exhaust bend to fit it and welding together.
Has anybody made a downpipe for a TD27 before? Would love to see some pics! Would like to know what size pipe you used too. I think 3 inch would be possible, but would have to cut it on the right angle so you get the right amount of coverage on the steel plate. Then out comes the hammer set....

Never done anything like this before so any advice appreciated!
