Due to the number of vehicles we have to check, we will not check any vehicle until all the required paper work is available, the required safety and recovery gear is pulled out ready for inspection and both driver and co-driver are available.
So if your coey is going to be late then everyone else will be checked before you and we will only start your check if no one else is waiting.
The new forms (that you all have copies of) should save us a lot of time. I'd suggest you go through the form and check the vehicle yourself.
There is now NO EXCUSE for not having everything on that sheet.
If you are unsure of anything to do with your vehicle then sort it out before Friday. Contact Dave, George or myself and we can answer your questions.
Those with logbooks that haven't been given then yet, don't worry as we will have them for you at the event. (saves postage)

Results:
Class Place Driver/Co-Driver Class Score Overall Score

Challenge Class
1 Aaron Smythe/Doug Cooper 913 856
2 Owen Fillery/David Morrison 908 838
3 Raana Horan/Mike Connor 860 811
4 Stephen Reed/Dion Kerr 798 687
5 Arron Eades/Klem Christensen 766 696

Club Class
1 Gavin Campbell/Warren Thomas 846 701
2 Daniel Cleaver/Graham Hawthorne 838 764
3 Bernie Konz/Andrew Dwyer 812 653
4 Scott Brassey/Craig Brassey 769 665
5 Peter Hall/Chris Mac 762 616

As there were 9 Challenge and 16 Club competitors, the Class Score cannot be directly compared between classes. The Overall Score listed is as if all competitors were in the same class. Also, other competitors slip into the bottom of the Overall Result. Full results later when all is rechecked by me.

Thanks, don't look to close.

on another note. can some one please explain to me how I'm can come behind Steve in class points but ahead in over all points? I'm sure it will make perfect sense, but I don't get it.
I do appreciate the organisers taking the extra time to give us both class and over all points, it is interesting to see.

A big thanks to all organisers, marshals and sponsors for putting on a great fun event. Also cheers to the crew for all the help.

This is what I need to check. When there is a larger group the points allocation is quite different.

EG in class scoring best time in club gets 100 points and best time in challenge gets 100 points. In overall scoring this changes to 100 for 1st and 95 for 2nd etc. Also with a 10 penalty that 10 becomes much harsher with a larger group as the time scores are much lower.

Anyway, I'll check it all over the next day or so and see if I can clearly isolate the reasons for the position shifts.

righto so you all went and had a good time as usual, but i see a couple of you mentioning things about the event

so if its OK with Dave, Id like to see some constructive critiscism thrown up here

if its not OK with Dave, then feel free to PM me your critiques

I am only asking so that we can make the wellington winch challenge as good as can be with our virginal experience in these types of events, and who knows Dave may be able to get some better ideas for next year

so if Dave says go for it, then fire away

Go for it!
All constructive criticism is good.
That was my second event and in my view, much better than the first.
The helecopter thing on Saturday evening killed the night stage but as we were running so late it probably wouldn't have been feasable anyway.
The accommodation was an excellent change from camping rough. The fire brigade food and BBQ worked well and probably the food service should be extended to include Saturday night.
Although we finished earlier than last year, I really need to find a way to finish closer to time but still have a challenging set of stages.
I have learnt a lot this time too.
Just don't throw too much mud at me.

What an awesome event! We had a ball. Like to thank Dave for all the effort he put in organizing it. All the marshals they were great, the land owners, and other competitors. Stages were good and challenging. The weather was perfect just a little bit of rain just what the tracks needed. As far as I know, no damage to our truck which was a bonus. DNF a stage by 3 minutes because the auto selector wire jumped out in stage 3 so we were stuck in park in a creek :x  Managed to climb under it and find a gear but ran out of time. Other than that it was great. Hopefully see you all there next year!

Everything was spot on from our camp, we were even happy with the weather you organised

Technical content of the stage's was awesome, could have added some more "easy" length to most of the stage's to increase seat time such as you did with stage 12, linking two of last years stage's together.

Also, there were BIG delays getting DNF'd trucks out of stage's, trucks stuck in stage's for up to one hour. Maybe a dedicated recovery truck that isn't competing, as competitors weren't keen to undertake the hard recovery work :D :D

The event was AWESOME, good job Dave, Scott and EVERYBODY else, it was so much fun :D :D :D :D :D

Aaargh!!! There is a problem with scoring! It's not the program but the human interface.

I thought these problems were now behind us but not the case. It seems initially that Club Class may change. Anyway the score sheets are coming to me for further checking.

I'll keep everyone posted.
