Re: Oil Filter Relocation
Has anyone who's done this had any issues such as drop in oil pressure?
Re: Oil Filter Relocation
depending on how you do it, make sure you're certain on which way you've got the hoses connected. ie oil flow direction.
I've heard of a lot of guys who've munted 1-UZ's because the pipes are around the wrong way. Their usual sign was a drop in oil pressure followed by the lengine lunching itself. Oil filters have a definite inlet and outlet.
Ive used a kit the same as in the link but due to my engine mount height on my 1-uz i had to do away with the factory oil filter mount/plate and get a custom one made up, just two pipes sticking up off a plate with fittings to take the hoses.
I've mounted my filter up behind the headlight as it was about the only free space left.

I fitted one of these from apet racing in my car with the oil cooler. Very easy to install. I had no pressure drop.
