Hi Guys,
Just reading a little bit about recover/tow hooks in another thread, and was wondering if anybidy has got any advice about fitting them to the front and rear of a Jeep cherokee...
...is it something i can do myself or is it something i should leave to a 4wd shop ? im pretty handy with a spanner, but it sounds like it should be taken pretty seriously.
Thanks
Tow Hooks...

I've only ever owned cruisers and don't know anything about jeeps, check out the CCVC links to get an idea about hook mounting. Its not worth the risk to yourself or anyone else to have a hook detach itself from your vehicle under load and turn itself into a deadly missile :fire:

you need to remember that with a unibody you need to spread the load over a large area. there are tow hook kits (comes with load spreading peices, all bolts etc) that you can buy off shore but would be expensive to bring in, however, would be worth looking at them just for the design etc.
It's not too hard....
