Access? Coast Rd - South of Wainiuomata

Post by BigSkellsy »

Is there public access to the beach at the end of that road? Looking to go fishing/diving this weekend. Would a call to the local council be in order?

Cheers,

you won't be able to get past the river

locked gates and private property

you will see the signs anyway
so basically anything before that is fair game

Yep, public road ends where the seal finishes and the gravel road is private, theres a doc carpark at the end of the seal and some signs and stuff showing where the public access is etc. I think they let you walk down the private road and use their bridge accross the river to access the walkway around the coast

Thanks for the info. That is what I was afraid of. I only want to get down onto the beach. Guess I'll have to find out who owns that land to get permission.
