I've got a squeeking noise from the front right of my 1996 (ifs) hilux and it ties in with going over bumps and when the wheel drops right down it groans. How much should I be looking at to get a mechanic to replace the bushings?
Thanks again.
Hilux's Bushings.
Re: Hilux's Bushings.
Dude, I am going through this right now in my prado (Same front end as 4runner) or rather am still trying to get the front end back to what it was before the "stuffed squeaky bushes" were removed.

I'm going to bite the bullet and get toyota bushes fitted. They are expensive ($183 each) but its a safety thing for me and after the mucking around I have had trying out aftermarket "direct replacements" I am going back to OEM. Get the ball joints checked too while you are there and be wary of prices to replace.
Mine was over $240 for a ball joint (they missed it before) and all it was is 4 bolts and a castled nut so I was ripped off (and still pissed about it too).
Go to a reputable place who will stand behind their work and get a W/A done too. The first go at it was about $500.

Re: Hilux's Bushings.
Honestly I dont know, but I have decided to bite the bullet and pay extra for the std bushes. I hate to do it but for me it may be the only option to get this right again.
Of course you may have more luck with a different bush then me.

Best of luck getting yours sorted. thanks heaps.
Re: Hilux's Bushings.
Just been informed on Pradopoint (prado forum in aussie) that there is another guy with exactly the same problem as me. Bushes replaced and now it wont hold alignments and is scary to drive.
Re: Hilux's Bushings.
If anyone is using search:
I put in them 90deg greese nipples and that fixed her all up.
I've since sold her though and have bought an LN106 model
