Re: Ford Courier WLT
Hi, I have one of those trucks too, as a road car.
Now, as is the case with all injector pumps, they are on the gear on a tappered shaft.
Remedy; put nut on shaft loose and hit with a soft drift with a hammer, if you're lucky it will pop off. If not, there is a special tool that threads into the gear and a bolt pushes on the end of the shaft, same result.
Oh, post note: Pays to set motor on exact top dead centre (TDC) and/or mark outer housing with a scribe and when you take pump off, mark the location of the key way.
When you get pump back, you can set shaft location to the mark, fit up pump and align the outter marks to get over the exact timing method
Unless you have the right special tool for timing them (DTI gauage) and a adaptor to measure the pump stroke.
Hope this helps.
PPS. the motor will run with timing out but will be noisey and may selfdestruct
Cheers,
