I dont suppose you had a drawing taken of the dump pipe flange where it bolts to the turbo did you? I'm looking at starting mine while work is scarce but I need to keep it driveable so want to build the exhaust out of the truck then take an afternoon to install it.

Cheers,

Yes I have traced the outline of it, can scan it and email to you if you like.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

that flange is very professional looking! is it two piece? with a tube pressed into the flange?

Better off just giving him the ID size of the holes and the PCD. Would suck if that drawing changed size during its transfer.

Cannot divulge trade secrets sorry.   but yes it was professionally made, how it was made will remain a secret for now.

Here you go Simon, this is for you. Well I am 1/2 way there, still need another silicone elbow to complete it.

The 'thing of beauty' is now fitted.

90 deg elbows in place.

Took it for a test run around the block and was puzzled as to why the boost gauge wasn't reading anything. One must remember to reconnect the vacuum tube eh?

Well after a while of driving around, I have somehow managed to split my intake elbow.
Image

Today it was replaced with a silicone one, that cost me 1/2 a weeks wages, well almost.......

That's good that you are now using quality silicone elbow.
One rule I have found in this day and age is, you get what you pay for
I'm going to refrane from saying.................
All good mate.
It's still the tidiest install

Just for you Simon..............

At last the last of the 90deg silicone elbows has arrived.
All fitted now. I know the clamps look odd, they were 51mm ones, the smallest I could get in this style. I will cut the ends of the threads off sometime, well as soon as I tear flesh on them!

SWEET
Good one Pete.
Have you managed to make up the lost boost, or is that all the air you can squeeze through that Isuzu cooler?
Cheers,

Cheers,

Not quite sure on your question Simon, but it has good boost now, peaks at about 16-17PSI. Seem to have good power at top end, will know after weekend as I am off to the Coast camping. This will be the first proper road test so I hope nothing falls off?

Had a training day yesterday and something went pffftttttttttt on the way home.

I found out what it was today when daylight allowed me a decent look under the bonnet.

Now the truck is off the road for a couple of days while I source some replacement silicone bends. :(

Bummer Pete,
Here's the stuff I use,
http://www.tridentmarine.com/stage/wetex_elbows.htm
Hope this helps a wee bit. Is there any strain on the bend? In other words is it relaxed when installed?

Worked for me. You just need to make up a few mounts. No bends required 8)

Don't be sorry Simon.

I thought about this, but it will no doubt be in the wrong position now that I have already mounted my bonnet scoop etc.

I searched all the places I could think of here in Chch and no one has any 45mmID silicone 90 deg bends  , so it was off to Trademe for some searching.
Only one seller stocks them so I ordered two, will keep the remaining original one as a backup spare.
it is a mystery how that one split as I can not see where it was being stressed or rubbing etc.

Intercooler is all fixed and back in place.

I had the engine tuned buy a work mate's flatmate who happens to be a diesel mechanic at a familiar shop to my truck, as a cashie  Just so much more responsive on the way home, yet to try highway ride but I suspect it will be a lot faster and quicker. :)

If anyone wants a diesel tune as a cashie, just let me know and I will pass your details on to him.
