Washing Synthetic Rope

Post by suzukisport »

Hey guys. Just want to get a fair idea how most of you wash your Synthetic winch rope. I spend at least a couple of hours washing ours after an event in a big drum of water, and still dosent get all of it out. Just if anyone has got a better way of washing it I would like to know. Thanks
Comp rig: Suzuki Vitara, L67 Supercharged V6 Commie and auto, Prado chassis and diffs. Gigglepin 8274 twin motor rear mounted winch, air free spools, 35" Silverstones, ect

Can you do the same as a snatch strap?

Send your misses out for the afternoon, and put it in the washing machine. (No washing powder)
It's just more fun in a lada !!

Put the rope in a delicates bag so the agitator does chaff the rope.

I use the washing machine for abseil ropes,

Used to have a small box (shoebox size) rope went in one end and out the other, had brushes mounted to scrub the rope as it passed through and a hose fitting for constant water, pretty easy to knock up.

I always double plait the rope and then chuck it in the washing machine.
