Wtd: Vitara PS Pump bracket, and a Zuk Aircon / Pump Q..

Post by Terry »

Hi folks, I'm planning on fitting the aircon pump back to my Vitara engine in the Samurai, to use as an air pump (yes, it's small, but bigger than the electric toy, and the SAnden 507 I've got is way too big to fit easily / at all). The original mounts bolt to the top of the Power steering mount bracket, which has been seriously modified to lift the PS pump up on my truck - looks like it's to clear the chassis rail. I figure it'll still fit in the original position if I rotate the output connector 90 degress, so - does anyone have an unchopped PS bracket they'd be willing to part with for a good (cheap) price?

And the second question - the Aircon pump (a cute wee thing) has a label "use DR 50??? oil only" - and some clear oil came out of the inlet hole when I turned it over (doh). Does this mean it has a sump and doesn't need lubrication? And does anyone know what type of oil to use (that's the only part of the label that's worn off). Pump is a DH150-CX if that means anything to anyone...

cheers,
Terry
