Commy V6 into 413?

Post by De-Ranged »

I've gone and bought a 413 with an 4AGE in it, not exactly the sort of thing I like... but the price was too good to turn down
Been out in it and found it dosn't have enought torque for my style of driving hell of a lot of fun tho lol
Got access to a supply of commy motors at a good price, it looks like it will fit, but.... I've been playing with this sort of stuff long enougn now, to know its not always that simple lol
Anyone know of some one who has done this

Oh and I'll have a heap of parts for one of these soon, as I'm pretty much planing on only keeping the body and chassi

It will be 5 times harder than you think and take 10 times longer than you think and since its not broken why fix it..

Now can someone say that back to me please cause I havnt got that into my thick skull yet either

+1 on the "be 5 times harder and take 10 times longer" thing! But, would be awesome when done!

I just sat my baby v8 in my 413 and it looked easy but after already fitting it to another vehicle prior i knew it was gonna be a bitch. Remember that sorta weight will affect steering and brakes etc. You'll get the motor fitted all mint then have all this extra crap to deal with afterwards. It will also be hard on the rest of the driveline.

It could be very cool if you did it right though.

Good god Reece, WTF have you done?

Will it have yellow bits in it?  .

I assume the lemons' running bits are going underneath less the dual box set up of course.

Can we see this one done?

given how much room a ca18de nissan motor takes up I would say the commy would be a mission if you wanted to keep stock innder guards etc. The zuk running gear would last about 30 milliseconds 2.

My CA didn't have the torque I was hoping for either so I slapped a sc12 toyota super charger on it, made a world of difference and wasn't that big a deal to fit. The 4age would be even easier as they came out as a 4agze being the supercharged version so you would be able to find factory brackets, and run the injectors and factory computer off a 4agze too.

My 2.75cents (bloody gst hikes)
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

lol this has sort of attracted a bit of attention, so here's the deal to date got given a vr motor today with full electrics and a link comp just got to help a mate fit another one into a bedford camper van. Size wise it fits its just the annoying bits like heater hoses exhusts etc that will be issues will have to run a force fan infront of the rad oh and gards fire wall etc if it has to move it can this is a tin top and I'm only going to run two seats so we can move back lol
I'm going to mate it up to a 30-80 trans from a hilux shouldn't be to hard as it is just a case of a bell housing and mount the trans to the flexy plate going this route becouse the commy trans has a big flat sump with lots of crap in it that dosn't like being hit by front drive shafts
The fun bit comes when I try and fit the 40 series cruiser tranfer case still working on that more on this later, axles will be a hilux front and a custom rear mod'd up from a 40 series rear with a hilux head, leaves up front and a five link out back
Oh and tony  too late finished a rather savage vertual lift on the first gard today setting it up to fit 35"s

And before all you old guys start asking yes I will throw up a build thread when I can be bothered with the cammera :wink:give you all somewhere to raz me over my unfinished projects lol

Sorry about the slow reply been a bit involved with moving my shop to Napier..... not something I want to do again in a hurry big thanks to all the mates that helped out very appreciated

As for the lada lol still there and will be getting a working on got a new motor in fact after taking the zuk out for a play at the river with the new gf she is keen to drive so I'm gona leave the zuk for the moment and finish the lada that way we can both go out playing, this will give me time to source the parts

Thanks for the tip CA18 will get in touch I'd be keen to hear about how they mounted the cruiser transfer as my original idea is goingto need some thinking....
