Touque Steer?
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

does it do it as bad with the rear locker in ?(assuming its wires so you can run the front without the rear?)
its likely to be as sibainmud states .....

Re: Pulling left??
Could be tyre pressure, if your left tyre is more deflated than the right it will pull to the left.
Re: Pulling left??
I don't think that it is touque steer as i happen off the power also, and the front locker only works when the back is locked up
they are all the same

Re: Pulling left??
hmm
more tread on the left tire=more grip?
otherwise, the drive will be equal on both wheels when locker engaged..
has it always done it Phil or have you just noticed it worse? could even be a wheel miss- alignment issue that is exaggerated when the locker is engaged?

Re: Pulling left??
different size tyres??
When your axles are tied together in a locker everything should be moving the same which would make me wana look closely at the tyre end of things.
The locker wouldn't be engaging only a single front wheel somehow would it?? No idea how that could happen but just a guess.
This thread should probably be in the toyota string but all good.

Re: Pulling left??
i'm prepared to be shot down as i am not a toyota owner are you certain your hubs are working properly maybe one isn't engaging properly and all the drive is going to the right hand wheel
my 4wd is not a truck

Re: Pulling left??
all the tyres are the 315/75/16 on 8" rims and pumped up to 38psi, im taking it in today for a wheel alignment
Re: Pulling left??
I didn't up this under toyota as it is a solid front axle.
Re: Pulling left??
yea mate i have only just noticed it on sunday on my way out off wood hill.

Re: Pulling left??
ok engage the front diff lock leave the T case in neutral and then jack up the front, make sure both wheels are spinning together.
Might as well cover all bases and do the back as well.

Re: Pulling left??
i will try and do that this weekend as it's in the shop getting a 3" pipe and dyno so i am hope to get it back on friday

Re: Pulling left??
With a front diff lock engaged you should be expecting and experiencing No Steering so I wouldnt really be worrying about it too much?

Re: Pulling left??
ensure you have the right length axles in. i know it sounds odd but its happened before.. even with locker actuated it'd act like an open diff cos only one axle 'locked up'..

how do you know?

jack one wheel off the ground, engage locker and try to turn the wheel around by hand.. you'll soon know if its engaged.. repeat for the other side.. if diff locker is engaged correctly and one of ya tyres spins, voila..
if theyre both locked up, the problem lays elsewhere..
hey kbjj....

Re: Pulling left??
I'm fully supporting the notion of only one front wheel driving.
From the many times of breaking rear drive flange bolts and having to put the rear diff lock in to drive the truck home with one rear axle. The truck would veer left on acceleration and veer right under engine braking.
This would mean that in normal 4wd you would only be driving with the rear axle though. Did you get stuck lots???
Cheers

Re: Pulling left??
I how for a fact that all of the wheels are driving as they have been well tested.
and how the 100 series is a full time 4x4 and if one of the axles was facked there would be no drive unless the center diff was locked, and it is not at the moment.

Only just started reading this so apologies if I add something already mentioned.
Pretty sure the solid axle 100 has viscous transfer case, so potentially will drive with broken/disconnected drive train.
I gather this is something just happened and no other changes made to the truck??
Pulling one way under accelaration and other under decelaration can be caused by anything from suspension bushes, loose wheel bearings and sloop in steering components. Less likly to be a bent axle housing.
I'd be underneath checking bushes and any slackness in steering. Check front and rear bushes, from what I skimmed above mainly front right and rear left bushes, but check them all with a big crow bar.
Grab hold of the top of a front wheel and shake back and forth as hard as you can (there is a natural frequency that it will shake back and forth at) and listen for any small knocking sounds and feel for any slack in anything (great way to check wheel bearings). Anything you hear or feel, track it down which usually requires someone else to feel individual balljoints etc while the vehicle is being shaken.
Re: Pulling left??
Hey mate thanks for reading, the transfer case is not a viscous it is electronically ingaged and it pulls left on and off the gas.
I have also been all over with an F/B bar to check the bushes and everything is sweet as it looks like that they where done not long before i got it.
All the rod ends are good also.
