Cape Palliser Lighthouse

Post by col.whiplash »

Hi,
Anyone know the story about access through Cape Palliser Lighthouse to Te Kaukau Point. Is there a locked gate and if so how does one get access?

Is it worth driving? ( three shinny'ish vehicles, newish defender & disco 3 and a Prado)

Thanks

Been for a drive round their a few times, fairly easy road from memory, can't remember how far I went the last time as it was dark. Talk to your friendly local council about access although I am sure they don't allow casual access. You can drive to the car park and do a mountain bike recce, thats a good ride

Thanks

Anyone know of any other interesting off road trips in that area (Wairarapa)? As the wagons are new'ish bush bashing is not desired.
