Time to dredge this one up again.
I have a few developments in this area.
While I have no problems with the engine handling the extra boost, and fuel. All the engine and exhaust temps are all under control, running it for over a year with no waste gate connected and at times over-spinning the turbo has it's affects
Even though I have now fitted a boost controller to lower the pressure to 18psi, the damage to the turbo shaft may of already been done
While driving around at "Nana" speeds the turbo gave up the ghost

with no warnings at all

So, after talking to a guy that is pushing 30psi down his TD27, and he has blown up a handful of turbos, the recommendation is don't go over 20psi with a standard turbo
Fitting a new second hand unit now. Good thing is it came with a 30 day warranty, so I have a month to blow this one up
