Hey is anyone keen for a cruisy trip round the new years period in wellies? Nothing exceptionally difficult, just a cruisy

Possibly a shiny into odlins/akas or maybe a trip over the rimutakas and go tackle a river over themsways 8)

howabout getting the key off palmerston north council and giving scotts road a blast? nice alpine views, easy tracks for the shinys and some creek crossings.... I'm not sure exactly how far you can go but it would seem the tracks are endless :) I think you could even come down off the tararua range near eketahuna somewhere and make it a round trip ;)
+ its a bit closer to me so I can tag along

that sounds like a good trip

best you do some research and get back to us if its possible to do the drop back into Eketahuna

coz if people are up for a long day you can do a return night drive round Ocean Beach

scotts road is a current NO-GO area, the local clubs stay out of there by request... not a good idea to go charging thru there :(

Watch this place, just in the middle of sorting something out with a couple of others, may consist of Sutherlands track and an overnighter near Tora (spelling) area and even Whiterock!

Update will happen when I have contacted a couple of people.

sounds good to me, I can tow my truck to martinborough on the A-frame and do the loop round cape paliser... may need extra drums for petrol, seems to go through a litre a second at the moment, or is that just the price of gas I can hear gushing through the carbeurator ?

How does this sound...

Sutherlands track and overnighter

Looking at running a trip through the Sutherlands track with an over nighter on a members property (Mudnutz & family, camping in tents/trucks) that is out that way as well, Tuturumuri, Tora/White Rock area.

I am looking at trying to get access through White Rock area, there will be a charge for both Sutherlands and White Rock but I am unsure at the moment.

You will need to be fully self sufficient food/drink wise. There is a school next to the camping area and for a small fee we could use the pool if the interest is there (it's not a deep pool about 3 foot deep, good for kids). There is also a mud bog on the camping property that we could have mud runs through (by foot not truck as it is over 2 meters deep) for a bit of fun.

There will be a limited number of spots for this trip so if you want to put your name down, please ensure that you are able to make it 20 places only! There are already 3 spots taken.

Looking at 15 - 16 January 2011.

Normal safety equipment will be needed as per all of our trips, if you need a list of the items, please let me know.

Cheers

Would like to meet you and your beast to be honest as I don't know your driving capability and better to judge in person than over the net. I an not doubting you ability though! Just I like to know, who, what, how, when etc etc as your can appreceiate. I can also talk to you about safety stuff as well.

NOTE TO ALL: Please remember if you are coming you need make the trip as I don't want to trun people away only to get a message that you can't make at the 11th hour.

Not being a asshole, just wanting to be fair to all.
