Broke force manuel hubs looking for factory safari ones
As titled broke the force hubs on fourth trip. There meant to be as strong as the factory ones. I was'nt even being hard on them. Bit disapointed in them. I know you can get a steel sleeve to stop them shock loading but for the price of that and a new set I can get some factory ones. Any way I know there sought after and hard to find but if any one knows of any please let me know.

I've got some auto ones in the garage if you need a pair for the mean time.

avm now do a HP model, yet to see how they go but the issues addressed by the masses with them in high power, high tourgue seem to have been addressed. call peter munro to discuss them!

Guess the material is simply not as good as the factory ones. bugger.
Does the sleeve fit around the very base of the housing where the bolts go through?
I wonder if the factory C shaped pressed steel bolt girdle (fark knows what you call them) things could have helped.
I just installed a set of these.
Not an immediate issue as my truck probably wont go for ages.

Even the factory ones break ive done 2 of them
Now when doing comps or hard runs i have got in the habit of putting on one of those stainless steel hose clamps around the base (one of the good quality bolt up ones) Touch wood havent broke one since

Good to hear AVM have addressed some of the issues.
Yes goes at the base of the housing,yeah factory c shaped thing may help.
I would expect to brake one or two in comps and hard stuff. These broke on a easy trip. I think I ve found some cheapish factory ones. Will deffinetly try your T-bolt clamp idea. Cheers

I have come to the conclusion that hubs are always bound to let go on a safari no matter what the brand. AVM, stuffed them on first trip, superwinch maybe the third trip. I just go into the wreckers now when I am getting low on hubs and buy every hub in the joint, aftermarket and original. Usually get about three or four good hubs which tends to last me a year. Rather fit a hub in the bush then a CV.

If you're not running enough HP to regularly break CV's, then just fit drive-flanges...either genuine Nissan (from Nissan AU), or Brian Howat in Welly.
If you've got a decent amount of HP that will toast CV's, then use the hub as a fusable link.....as its easier to fix a hub in the bush than a CV anyway.
If you're into comps...then fit drive-flanges and chromoly CV's.

Everything can break. Doesn't mean they are crap. People don't post when they work well all the time. Only when stuff lets go. Traxion reckoned they've had very few break.

Yeah I would rather fit a hub than a cv in the bush too. I better start collecting some hubs.
Deffinetly don't have the hp to blow cvs yet so will stick to hubs.

Yeah well I have seen 3 break in a short time. As I said I don't like rubbishing a product but they are not as strong as they claim. My AVM ones could handle more than these which ses a lot. If you seen how they broke you would think there crap.

All good. Did you actually see 3 let go?? all in the same fashion? All I can see in the photo is the break not the conditions under which it happened. I would think you may have stressed them prior to that and then they gave out on some tamer part of the track.
I have some, I'm not all team extreme like some drivers but haven't had any issues aye.
Are they replaceable under warranty??
And yeah better to blow a hub than something else in the driveline.

No did'nt see the others go just the after. You could be right about pre stressing them. Not too sure if they have a warranty?

take a look at the holes that the pins ride in. See if they have turned oval so that the pin can kinda ramp outwards.
Must be tons of outwards force on the housing when ya think about it!

my mate has done the T clamp round the hubs as above,has not popped one since doing that and has been on two west coast trips plus a few local trips.

There are chromoly outters available for the Force hubs. Expensive but the Aussies seem happy with the setup.

Do you know the part number for the drive flanges from Nissan? Or what vehicle they are off?
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.
