Stretching Coil Springs

Post by ZukOffroader »

I talked to a friend who does springs for heavy duty vehicles, said he could stretch my springs on my Vitara and seemed pretty confident about the results.

Just want to hear your opinions or past experiences with spring stretching.

Thanks.

I have 2 door scud with Tough Dog coils and was nice and high and level until bar and winch went on front, then sagged about 18mm so took front coils to Spring Works in Naenae who heated and stretched them. Been great, havent sagged back, have stayed right height and flex heaps.

Bitch getting em in though! Even with spring compressors on them they were too long to mount so had to remove lower A Arm, sit springs on them, then trolley jack them up compressing spring as lifting and fudge around with it until holes line up. Awesome when in though!

Cost $50 to do 2.
