96 surf , wheels

Post by paddyak »

hi , just bought a 96 model surf to replace my 90 . have some pretty new 32x10.5 15 bighorns on the 90.
is there any way to get them to fit the 96 by using spacers etc ?

Hmm good luck with that, I have seen some people manage to do it, but wouldn't really recommend it. Its the calipers on the front that are too big, some people reckon they get them on with certain rims with the right offset but not commonly done.

Get some 16's - my surf loves these!

I don't even know what sort of kit it is, had 2 KZN185's for a while and one of them had (well this is what i think) 50mm lift springs in it, apart from that nothing else is done, so just swapped them onto this one, gets pretty good articulation at the back, wheel tucks right in under the rear guard.

Did have to hack up the inner guard a bit though!

What size tyres are you running on that surf? Did they throw the fuel consumption out much? Cheers

They are the equivalent of 33's, 285/70/R16 I'm pretty sure. Still gets alright economy, slows it down a little with the bigger diameter but its a whole different story when you get into a bit of mud now.

Had to attack the inner guard liners a bit to make them fit though
